The Coalition of the APC 2019 Anambra State House of Assembly Candidates has registered their warm congratulations to Chief George Moghalu following on his recent appointment as the new Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was contained in a statement released by the State Coordinator of the group, Hon. Paul Ezeobi on behalf of the coalition, and in which they described the appointment as well deserved and fitting.

The group noted that the appointment was not without perusal on Chief Moghalu's track record and commitment as faithful elder statesman who has made great inputs and still has a lot to offer for the development of the country, which they said, justifies him as a tested and trusted hand

Hon. Ezeobi, in the statement, describes Chief Moghalu's appointment as yet another laudable gesture and blessing to the people of the South East, from the President Buhari-led Administration, which he said, has once again justified the President as a broad-minded leader who adheres to the principle of Federal Character in making appointments and ensures equitable distribution of powers and dividends of democracy across the federation.

Thanking the president for the 'Independence day gift' to Ndi Igbo, the group further expressed optimism that Chief Moghalu will effectively deliver and discharge his function in utmost good faith as a service to the humanity and the nation, even as they prayed for more of God's wisdom and strength upon him.

It would be recalled that Chief Muoghalu has been a Board of Trustees member of the All Progressive Congress, and also the National Auditor of the Party, as well as the chairman of the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT). By this appointment, he has become the 8th MD/CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) which was established since 1998.
