In a statement issued by the president of the group, Comrade Echezona Emejulu urged and prevailed on all elected members of the law makers of the green chamber of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and President Mohammadu Buhari to support Hon. Onyejeocha Nkeiruka Chidubem as speaker of House of Representative.
Hon. Onyejeocha Nkeiruka is a member representing Isukwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency in Abia State under the platform of People Democratic Party (PDP).
She was first elected as a member in 2007 and later reelected in 2015. She later cross carpeted to All Progressive Congress (APC) contested for the same position in 2019 and still won.
Emejulu expresses optimism that Hon. Onyejeocha Nkeiruka has the charisma to obtain the position. Speaking on her antecedent as chairman of women in parliament and chairman House Committee on Aviation.
He added that her legislative interests border on sponsoring bills that will enhance the standard of living for children, women, youths and less privileged, including education , infrastructure, health and aviation sector. It is worthy of note that when you train a woman you have trained a nation and when you avail a virtuous woman an opportunity in good governance, you have availed mothers, wives, aunties and all caring women in the society, in the positive legislative system of a transparent good governance especially that of His Excellency President Mohammed buhari, whose objectivity in issues - based politics is equal to none.
We need a profound woman of her caliber to have the coveted speakership position as she has made her target achievements to include delivery on good and lasting democracy dividends promises to her constituency and Nigeria at Large through responsive legislation, Emejulu also stated that
this will further unravel the gender equality stance of our good, working president His Excellency Mohammed Buhari and in history blaze the trail for him as a fair, good all rounder in the repositioning of all aggregates and categories in the society, to play a positive role in good governance, irrespective of gender.
