PLENARY: MADUAGWU URGE MEMBERS TO REMAIN FOCUS


Speaker Anambra state house of Assembly Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu has called on the legislators to remain focused as the begain the concluding part of their tenure.


Maduagwu while addressing the law makers at plenary on Tuesday 22nd January, commended the honourable members for their achievements at their different constituencies.

In her words " May I use these opportunity to welcome honourable members to the penultimate quarter of our legislative tenure and also welcome you back to our legislative business after the Christmas and new year celebration. I thank God for granting us peace and for bringing us back in good health.

'Honesty, this present legislature has achieved alot in aspect of law making, effective representation as well as oversight duties. Ndi-Anambra in all assessments, have rated us very high in the course of our legislative responsiblities. We have also sustained the cordial relationship with other arms of the government especially the executive arms. The cordiality, no doubt has facilitated the massive achievement of the present government in all sectors of the state economy.

'The present law makers have done so well in the empowerment of their constituents ranging from scholarship schemes to business promotions and we will continue in that light till June this year when we shall be winding up the tenure by the grace of God.

'I urge honourable members to remain focused and continue in their genuine effort to advance peaceful co-existance of the citizenry as well as overall development of the state. "

The house was adjoined till Tuesday 29th January.
